Using the service
Use Chat256 lawfully and responsibly. You are responsible for the content you send, the files you upload, the people you invite and the devices from which you access the service.
Protect your access
Keep account credentials, recovery material, chat keys and invitation links private. Do not deliberately attempt to obtain another user's identity, session or protected content.
Prohibited activity
Do not use Chat256 for fraud, harassment, threats, unlawful distribution, credential theft, malware delivery, attacks against systems, evasion of security controls or other activity that harms users or the service.
Your content and other people's content
Do not share information that you do not have permission to distribute. Encryption protects supported data in the technical path; it does not grant permission to copy confidential information belonging to another person or organisation.
Calls
Calling depends on browser permissions, compatible devices and network connectivity. You must not use calling features to harass, record or distribute another person's private communication unlawfully.
Files and Workspace
Do not upload malicious software or unlawful material. File expiry and deletion controls reduce availability but cannot guarantee that every recipient copy has been destroyed.
Forum and Marketplace
Community features require additional care because they involve communication with other participants. Verify transactions independently and do not assume that encryption provides escrow, buyer protection or a guaranteed refund unless explicitly provided by the live service.
Paid features
Where paid plans are offered, the checkout flow is the place to confirm the current price, billing interval, entitlement and cancellation information. Do not send payment credentials through chat.
Availability and changes
Online services can experience maintenance, outages, browser incompatibilities and network failures. Features may be changed or withdrawn as the platform develops, and technical limits may vary by plan or service configuration.
Security limits
Chat256 does not represent any internet service as completely anonymous, untraceable or impossible to compromise. Protect your devices and verify sensitive contacts before relying on encrypted communication.
